Pink Robin opens as a vivid cherry pink to rose pink, a medium-to-bright tone that reads with energy and immediacy on the page. The colour is deeply saturated and rich, shifting slightly in apparent depth depending on the paper surface and how the ink is applied — lighter, airier washes reveal a softer rose tone, while heavier strokes deepen toward a bold, full-bodied cherry pink.

Shading

Pink Robin delivers prominent shading — one of the ink's defining qualities in calligraphy and brush work, where the natural variation between thin and thick strokes creates visible tonal movement from pale rose to rich cherry. The effect is most rewarding in copperplate, brush lettering, and any technique that exploits pressure variation.

Shimmer & Sheen

Recommended Use

Pink Robin is designed for use with dip pens and brushes. It is well suited to calligraphy nibs, glass pens, and brush lettering work. Filling Pink Robin into a fountain pen is not recommended. If you are specifically looking for a fountain pen-safe pink ink from Dominant Industry, please refer to their Standard Series fountain pen inks instead.

Pink Robin performs best on premium calligraphy and writing papers — smooth, coated, or ink-friendly surfaces such as Rhodia, Tomoe River, or dedicated calligraphy practice paper, where the shading gradient develops fully and the cherry pink tone stays true.
