Dominant Industry designed the pen and the ink together, as a single idea: a fountain pen with an ebonite feed built specifically to draw out the colour separation of one particular ink, and an ink formulated to reward that exact feed. The Pen

Serenity's body is cast in Ice Crystal acrylic resin, translucent and swirling with teal blue, milky cloud-like clouding, and warm orange-gold accents — a pattern that forms naturally in each piece, so no two pens look quite alike. The design carries a quiet key-and-hotel narrative throughout: a crown-inspired cap top, a key-shaped clip with a keyhole motif and compass symbol, and a keyhole-shaped breather hole custom-engraved into the nib itself.

Underneath the styling is a genuinely functional writing tool. The #6 stainless steel nib, finished in rose gold, comes in Extra Fine, Fine, or Medium. The standout feature is a genuine ebonite feed — a material chosen for vintage-grade capillary performance, delivering a richer, more stable flow than the plastic feeds found in most pens at this price point. It fills via a dedicated converter (included), and arrives in a presentation box with a matching keyring and illustrated postcard.

The Ink

Serenity ink flows from the nib as a soothing, gentle aqua-teal blue — calm, clear, and unhurried on the page. Where it gets interesting is what happens next: as it dries, the colour deepens and separates, revealing soft undertones of sea-glass green shifting into deeper navy and moodier shadow tones, an effect Dominant Industry describes as genuinely sensual to watch unfold. With high, elegant shading, the transformation is most visible on premium, low-absorbency paper with a medium or stub nib — exactly the conditions this pen's ebonite feed was built to deliver.

Why the Pairing Matters

An ebonite feed lays down more ink, more consistently, than a standard plastic feed — which matters enormously for an ink built around wet-to-dry colour separation. Write the same Serenity ink through a different pen and you'll still get a beautiful teal. Write it through this one, and the full aqua-to-navy transformation the ink was designed to show has the ink volume and consistency it needs to fully develop.
