Dominant Industry Pearl 016 Spring Fields is a 25ml fountain pen ink from the Pearl Series, hand-crafted in small batches at Dominant Industry's studio in Paju, South Korea. Built around the idea of bottled light, the Pearl Series pairs richly pigmented bases with fine, eco-friendly shimmer particles, designed to be used with medium or broad nibs to avoid clogging.

Colour Profile

Base Colour

Spring Fields opens as a bright chartreuse green, a neutral-toned, fresh green inspired by the colour of a field in early spring. The tone stays clean and lively across most paper types.

Shimmer

Spring Fields carries a silver shimmer, milled fine (up to 50 microns) from eco-friendly, cosmetic-grade material so it moves cleanly through standard feeds without clogging. The silver particles sit quietly against the green base in fine lines and catch the light more visibly in wetter writing or larger swatched areas — shake the bottle well before each fill to keep the shimmer evenly suspended.

Shading

Spring Fields shows medium shading, with a visible yellow undertone emerging as the ink dries within each stroke. The shift gives the green real tonal movement without losing its core brightness.

Sheen

Spring Fields has no sheen effect. All of its visual character comes from the interplay between the chartreuse base and the silver shimmer, rather than any edge sheen.

Spring Fields has a dry, restrained flow compared to other inks in the line, with dry time of around 40 seconds. Writers used to wetter inks may want a slightly broader nib to compensate.

Recommended Paper

Spring Fields shows no feathering or bleed-through on premium papers such as Rhodia and Tomoe River, where the silver shimmer sits cleanly on the page and the yellow-tinted shading reads clearly.

Recommended Nibs

Because of its drier flow and shimmer content, medium or broad nibs are recommended over fine or extra-fine, both to keep the ink moving smoothly and to let the shimmer fully express itself.
