Dominant Industry Standard A11 Seaweed is a 25ml fountain pen ink from the Standard Series, made in small batches at Dominant Industry's studio in Paju, South Korea. It's a genuine dye-based Standard ink — no shimmer, no special handling required, safe for both fountain pens and dip pens.

The Colour

Base Tone

Seaweed reads as a murky, subdued green — reviewers describe it as a kelly green with an unusually yellow-leaning base, quite different from the bluer or brighter middle-greens more commonly seen in fountain pen inks. It's a colour built around low saturation and mood rather than punchy brightness, which is exactly the point: this is meant to feel like something glimpsed underwater, not something announcing itself.

Shading

Seaweed shows medium shading, developing genuine tonal range in broader nibs or larger swatches, moving between lighter and darker greens as the ink pools and thins.

Sheen & Shimmer

Seaweed has no sheen and no shimmer. A small number of retailer listings describe it as a shimmer ink, but this is a mix-up with Atlantis, its shimmering companion in the same collection — Seaweed itself is a clean, non-shimmer Standard ink, confirmed consistently across the brand's specifications and most retailer listings.

Seaweed runs on the drier side, with dry time of approximately 30 seconds on a medium nib on Rhodia paper.

Water Resistance

Seaweed has low water resistance and is not suited to documents requiring permanence.
