Unknown Land takes its colour from that idea: an ancient, weathered building caught in sunset light, wrapped in wild, overgrown greenery, the kind of gold that only comes from imperfection.

It's the second chapter of "A Log of Elixir," a collection built around vintage illustration and the mysterious tales of alchemists, released alongside its companion ink Allegory.

The Colour
Base Tone
Unknown Land is a warm, golden brown — sandy, caramel-toned, and genuinely difficult to place next to anything else on the market. Reviewers describe it landing somewhere between a soft, aged mist and an earthy, muted gold, with subtle undertones that shift depending on light and paper. Wet, it can lean more yellow-brown with a faint green edge; dry, it settles into a gentler caramel.
Shading
This is where Unknown Land earns its reputation. It shows genuine multichromatic shading, its warm gold base separating into distinct hints of red-brown and green wherever the ink pools — one of the more complex colour-separation effects in Dominant Industry's catalogue, and the kind of ink that rewards broader nibs, flex nibs, or a slower, more deliberate hand.
