Dominant Industry Wood Stamp – A Log of Elixir

An alchemist’s bottle never just holds ink — it holds a theory, a process, a small act of transformation sealed in glass. Dominant Industry carved that idea directly into this stamp: an ornate potion bottle with a snake coiled around its cap, biting its own tail, the way alchemists themselves used to draw the idea of something endless.

Dominant Industry Wood Stamp — A Log of Elixir is a wood-mounted rubber stamp made in South Korea, released as the companion piece to the brand’s second Ink Archiving Book, A Log of Elixir — alongside the Allegory and Unknown Land inks and the matching black leather hardcover swatch book.

The Design

The stamp depicts an ornate glass bottle with a decorated base and a tag tied around its neck by a length of string — the same shapely silhouette that runs through Dominant Industry’s archiving collections, but here finished with an Ouroboros cap: a serpent eating its own tail, an old alchemical symbol for infinity, wholeness, and the endless cycle of transformation. Two vertical lines run alongside the bottle with the word “Ink” at the top, turning the stamp into a small, ready-made label field as soon as it’s pressed onto the page.

How to Use It

Stamp the bottle outline onto a swatch page, journal, or notebook, then fill it in with your fountain pen ink of choice and use the built-in “Ink” line to note the colour. For anyone colouring the design in with fountain pen ink, an oil-based ink pad is recommended over a water-based one to keep the lines crisp when layering colour on top of the stamped outline.

No ink pad is included with the stamp.

About the A Log of Elixir Collection

A Log of Elixir is the second volume in Dominant Industry’s Ink Archiving series, created in collaboration with illustrator Sing Ink Swatch and built around the vintage tales and tools of alchemists. The set pairs this wood stamp with two standard inks — Allegory, a cool-and-warm grey blend representing the unicorn’s soul and the stag’s body, and Unknown Land, a multichromatic golden-brown — alongside a black leather hardcover swatch book.
