A Dancer, Caught Mid-Leap Through Cloud

The Opus 88 Harmony 2026 Cloud Dancer is the third release in Opus 88's rose-gold Harmony series, and its most atmospheric yet. The resin has a soft, semi-opaque pearlescent finish with a gentle gray-blue undertone that shifts subtly in the light — a light bluish-green tone reminiscent of clouds drifting under an open sky. A rose gold ballerina silhouette graces the cap, with "2026 Cloud Dancer" printed on the barrel in matching rose gold ink, "The Harmony" engraved in script at the finial, and "Opus 88" marked on the center ring. It's a quiet, elegant edition — one that rewards a closer look.

Design & Construction

The Harmony line is built for comfortable daily writing rather than display-only handling: a lightweight, well-balanced pen with a screw cap that can be posted, and a translucent barrel that lets you track your ink level at a glance. Capped, the pen measures approximately 145 mm, with a body diameter of approximately 14 mm and a weight of approximately 24 g. Rose gold-plated trim — clip, center ring, and nib — runs throughout, offering a warm contrast to the cool, luminous resin.

The pen ships in an Opus 88 gift box with a glass eyedropper pipette and a spare O-ring included.

Eyedropper Filling System & Shut-Off Valve

The Cloud Dancer uses the same reliable eyedropper system found across the Harmony line, with a piston-operated shut-off valve at the rear of the barrel. An ebonite piston and rubber gasket seal the feed off from the barrel when fully closed, reducing the risk of leaks or ink burping — useful for a pen that travels, including by air. During long writing sessions, leave the valve open to take full advantage of the pen's high ink capacity, which runs upward of 3.5–4 ml — considerably more than a standard converter holds.

To fill: unscrew the grip section from the barrel, use the included glass pipette to draw ink, deposit it into the barrel, and reassemble. To write, unscrew the blind cap to loosen the internal rod and open ink flow to the feed; tighten it again before travel to seal the reservoir.

Nib Options

The Cloud Dancer is fitted with a rose gold-plated stainless steel JoWo #6 nib, available in:

  • Extra Fine (EF) — a precise, controlled line for small handwriting
  • Fine (F) — the most versatile everyday width
  • Medium (M) — broader and wetter, good for shading inks
  • Broad (B) — a bold, generous line
  • 1.5 mm Stub — an italic-style grind adding crisp line variation to every stroke

Opus 88 nibs tend to write slightly broader than equivalent Japanese sizes — if you usually reach for a Pilot or Sailor fine, consider sizing down one step.
