Yamamoto Paper RO-BIKI Note Map Series — Star Map

A shape built for lists, not for prose

Most notebooks are sized to look good closed. This one is sized to be useful open. At 91 × 210mm, it's noticeably longer and narrower than a passport-size notebook — closer to a bookmark than a book — which turns out to be an unusually good shape for the kind of writing that doesn't need a full page: packing lists, grocery runs, a running to-do, or short lines of poetry where a wide page would just leave awkward empty space on either side.

The cover, without a specific painting behind it

Unlike Yamamoto's Museum Series, this cover doesn't reproduce a particular artwork — it's an original star map design, dense with constellation lines and star clusters across a dark navy ground, printed under the same wax finish used across the RO-BIKI line. The wax still creases and scuffs with handling the same way it does on every other RO-BIKI cover, so the star field slowly picks up a texture of its own the longer you carry it.

Blank pages, on purpose

Sixty pages sit inside, plain rather than ruled or dotted, on New Chiffon Cream writing paper around 80g/m². No grid, no lines — just paper suited to fountain pens, dip pens, ballpoint, or pencil, left open for whatever format you actually want to use: a list, a quick sketch, a few lines of handwriting practice. The binding is thread-stitched with a saddle stitch, strong enough to survive being flipped open and closed constantly, which matters more on a notebook built for quick, repeated use than on one meant to be written in once a week.

Where it actually fits

This size is designed first for Yamamoto's own RO-BIKI Canvas Cover, but it also fits inside a regular-size Traveler's Notebook, a Yubokumin planner, a Writer's Organiser, or a Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter — worth knowing if you already run one of those systems and want a slimmer insert dedicated to lists rather than full notebook use. Note that it's built for regular-size TN covers, not passport-size — the width doesn't match a passport-size cover the way Yamamoto's Museum Series notebooks do.
